Clinical evaluation of Guaiazulene and Dimethicone on Chronic Gastritis Patients with Dyspepsia

Abstract
|
|
|
To evaluate the therapeutic effects and side effects of Guaiazulene and Dimethicone
upon chronic gastritis with dyspepsia, we administered Gelma¢ç l0 ml(contain guaiazulene 4mg and dimethicone 3.Ogm)gid for 8 weeks to 28 chronic gastritis patients.. The results are as following ;
1) Among 28 patients, 11 patients were male and 17 patients were female. The mean age was 47.4¡¾11.8 years
2) The gastroscopic diagnosis were 1 l patients with atrophic gastritis(AG), 4 patients with AG and intestinal metaplasia, 7 patients with AG and superficial gastrotis(SG) and 6 patients with SG.
3) After 4 weeks and 8 weeks treatment, patients with marked improvement were 81, 96% on epigastric pain, 83, 92% on abdominal distention, 92, 100% on bloating, 76, 76% on eructation, 93, 100% on acidic regurgitation, 50, 60% on nausea, 75, 100% on vomiting and 36, 54% on anorexia.
4) The side effects such as constipation, diarrhea, dry mouth or palpitation were not noted. So, we consider that guaiazulene and dimethicone are effective and safe drugs for symptom relief of chronic gastritis with dyspepsia.
